The newsletter is produced by Geoff McGinniskin, a long serving member of the RACV Energy Breakthrough Planning Committee. All Team Managers receive the newsletter via email as it is released.

3/06/2008  New schools in '08
Welcome to seven schools entered in the Energy Breakthrough for the first time in 2008!

In the HPV A's, Yulle Park Community College, Horsham Lutheran Primary and Lucknow PS are all trying their hand for the first time. Whilst in the Secondary HPV event, Killester, Marist Sister's, Nagle and New Haven Colleges are all on debut.

Lumen Christi PS are welcomed into the Pushcarts for the first time too.

"It's great to see some new schools in amongst the traditional faces." Online Manager, Nigel Preston said, "This year we pushed our promotions into more schools all across Australia and we want to continue to offer more opportunities to new schools and support them when and where we can."

3/06/2008  Jeff Nielson's 12 hours of hurt!
Trisled Racing Team's Jeff Nielson has set a new Australian distance record for a recumbent!

The 25 year old rider covered 491.25km on the Darebin International Sports Centre's (DISC) velodrome between 8pm on Sunday, May 25, and 8am on Monday. This is a new Australian 12-hour distance record for recumbent cycling. The world record stands at 607km.

6/05/2008  Wine Sales and Trivia Nights

A wine drive & a trivia night - what better way to raise some money for a HPV team?Bendigo Youth Racing (BYR) and HP Racing are out in their communities to raise funds for their Australian International Pedal Prix (AIPP) campaigns.

The members of the two Community class teams were first hooked on HPV racing at the RACV Energy Breakthrough. During their school days, the BYR boys raced for Golden Square SC, Flora Hill SC and Bendigo Senior SC, whilst most of the HP Racing crew are former ex-Berwick SC students.

These two teams - and Tristan Wright's TSpeed Bike Project - show what can be achieved beyond year twelve from the foundations laid by our great event in Maryborough. You can still continue to enjoy the teamwork, designing, constructing, training and racing.
