Extreme Weather Policy

Pushcart students compete in the wetIf recent November weather is anything to go by, we could experience very hot or very wet conditions in Maryborough this year.
This will not be the first time we have had beat the heat or the rain.

Total Fire Bans

thermometorIn the event of a TOTAL FIRE BAN being declared the following rules will apply:

  • Campers will NOT be able to use BBQ’s or other open air stoves.
  • This ban will apply to the full 24 hours of the declared day.
  • Event caterers only will be able use BBQ’s, if a permit is issued from the CFA, and they agree to meet all permit conditions.

Please note: Maryborough is in the North West Total Fire Ban Region (Region 15).

Extreme Temperatures

If the temperature exceeds 36 degrees, or if rainfall is very heavy for an extended period of time, organisers reserve the right to implement a range of staged strategies to reduce the likelihood of heat stress and pneumonia.
This includes compulsory breaks through to suspension of the trial for a period of time.
This will apply on both tracks and the decision is the responsibility of the Clerk of Course and organisers.
Your full co-operation is requested during these times.
