Film Reel20th Anniversary Video Project : Upload your footage!
Home > 20th Anniversary Video Project

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the RACV Energy Breakthrough, we're inviting Energy Breakthrough - Thumbs Up!you to contribute your footage to a new video collaboration project.

We know that lots and lots of students, parents, teachers and grandparents shoot reels (or hard drives) full of footage from the Energy Breakthrough weekend each year.

We are planning to crowd-source this year's footage and edit it into a commemorative short film.

What should the footage be of?
You can film as much of the event as you would like, but your pieces are much more likely to get used in the final edits if they are cut down to the best bits or something interesting is happening.

You could show:

  • highlights and tough times,
  • your journey to Maryborough,
  • interview some of your fellow students about what the Energy Breakthrough means to you,
  • the vibe of the Energy Expo,
  • record some of your school's efforts in the Display & Presentation and Design & Construction, or
  • capture the excitement of the track action,
  • but... it's up to you to get creative too!

Presentation

Who's invited?

We want to see all types of participation too, covering the Human Powered Vehicles, Hybrids, Pushcarts, Try-athlon teams and the Innovations in Technology - from the youngest teams to the oldest.

For example, we've already been contacted by Reiner Bouman at Cobden Technical School who will be recording some of their team's 24 hour trial using small on-board cameras. That's exactly the sort of footage we're looking for!

We would also welcome any footage that you and your students can shoot in the lead-up to the RACV Energy Breakthrough too.
