Frequently Asked Questions
Home > Frequently Asked Questions of the Administration team!

1. If our school has multiple entries do I have to fill out an On-Line Team List for each team?

Yes. You must complete a separate Team List for each entry and submit them all individually.
Go to our Team Manager Centre to fill in any team and camping lists.

2. If our school has multiple entries how many Camping Proformas do I need to fill out then?

One per school which covers all your entries’ camping details is required to be completed on the On-Line Camping Proforma and submitted.
Go to our Team Manager Centre to fill in any team and camping lists

3. How do I change my team or camping details if I have already submitted them on-line?

Any changes you would like to make to your team, whether it is team captain, team name, change of category or to withdraw, or to your camping details, please email breakthrough[at]cgoldshire.vic.gov.au

4. Are you able to have more boys than girls in your team if you are a primary school?

No. There must be an even number of boys and girls.

5. Is the tryathlon vehicle the same as a HPV?

Yes. The same specifications apply for a tryathlon vehicle as a HPV.

6. Can I bring my caravan, campervan, or camper trailer?

The RACV Energy Breakthrough strongly discourages these vehicles on all its designated camping grounds, and has introduced a complete ban on the Princes Park Oval Camping Ground.

The Maryborough Caravan Park has also introduced a complete ban on these vehicles in the caravan park. Please contact the Maryborough Caravan Park on (03) 5460 4848 if you are intending to stay at this camp area.

7. Are parents able to camp with the students?

Yes.
Camp sites can have any invited guests stay but they all must wear an Official RACV Energy Breakthrough wristband and should be listed on one of the Team List Registration Forms.
Wristbands will be distributed through the Team Registration process or by the Camping Ground Coordinators.

8. Do you have to stay overnight?

No. There are numerous schools who are only a day trip away who travel to the event for the day and then home again. The suitability of these arrangements will be determined by the school’s location and the type of activity they have entered into.

We do not recommend however that parents and teachers drive home if they are feeling tired though.

9. Can I bring a dog?

No.

10. Where can I park my vehicle?

The event has a team of designated car parking attendants who will direct you to your parking space. Car parking for the duration of the event in the designated car parks has not increased, it will cost just $5 for all vehicles except buses which are free of charge.

All vehicles will be issued with a Yellow Parking Receipt upon payment of the parking fee, and this must be filled out and displayed on the vehicles dashboard for the duration of the event.

11. I’ve received the “Red Car Parking Ticket” for our team, what does this entitle me too?

The Red Ticket enables the holder to park in restricted areas including around the Princes Park Oval (until these parking areas are full). Red Ticket holders must also pay the $5 car parking fees and display a Yellow Parking Receipt as well.

Please note there is no parking in the Maryborough Caravan Park.

12. What can I use power for?

Power is for lighting only. All cooking appliances should be gas fired. If you are intending on bringing a small generator to power some appliances in your camp site please be considerate of other campers and ensure it is quiet and unobtrusive.

Please also plan for the chance of Total Fire Ban days and arrange alternative cooking arrangements on these days, as open flames for cooking will be banned on these days.

13. Are there still water restrictions in place in Maryborough?

Maryborough is still on very high water restrictions, so please intend to use water wisely whilst residing in this rural community who has endured many years of uncertainty in water security.

14. What if I want to know more?

If you have any other questions please explore this website as there is plenty of the general information schools, teams, and campers will require.

If there are still questions that you have unanswered please contact

Administration Manager, Alisha Chadwick on email breakthrough[at]cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or
